Otorohanga Toy Library

The Otorohanga Toy Library is part of the national Toy Library federation.  We are a not-for-profit organisation, governed by a passionate, hardworking committee of volunteers who have the enthusiasm and dedication to make this service the best it can be for our community.

At our Toy Library, we actively promote play as being essential to the optimal educational, physical, psychological, social and cultural development of the child.

Through play, children learn problem solving, communication, developing their fine motor skills, being creative and having fun.

We are fortunate to have the skills and experience of our paid Toy Librarian, Andrew, who is responsible for the day-to- day operational management of the library during opening hours.  He is always on-hand to assist with choosing toys appropriate for your child’s age and stage of development and learning journey.

The Otorohanga Toy Library is a toy loaning service that works very similar to a local book library.

We have over 500 quality toys, puzzles, games and learning activities for children aged 0-12 years, and we are always expanding our range through securing donations and funding grants.

5 Good reasons to join the toy library:
